Your First Class: What to know before you go

Some commonly held concerns, we want to debunk for you before you come:

“I am totally new to yoga. What class should I attend?”

Our classes are designed for all-levels.   All of our teachers teach modifications and beginners are encouraged.  If you have never practiced before, a great place to start is with one of our Hatha classes or the Power Vinyasa Basics class.  See you soon!

"I am not flexible or strong enough for yoga!"

Then, yoga is exactly right for you. Practicing yoga increase flexibility, agility, and core strength through lengthening and strengthening overtime and breathing! Yoga is not about getting your leg behind your head. And remember yoga is a life long journey-as you show up on your mat, fat will get replaced with muscle, rigidity will get replaced with flexibility, and contraction will open up into more space.

"I am afraid I will have no idea what I am doing!"

So did everyone the first time they came to class. When trying
something new it is natural to be anxious. Our center welcomes
beginners and first timers.

We do not believe in the perfect pose! We believe in the pose that is right for your body! Our teachers teach all the classes with emphasis on modification allowing any individual at whatever level of experience they are at to benefit from a class.

"It will be too hot! I hate the heat!"

Some of our classes are practiced in a heated room. The room is heated to a temperature that matches your own body temperature. This will enable your body to respond to the movements like it could not do in a cold room. It is in support of your process not as something that works against it.

"I am too old to practice yoga!"

Any one of any age or limitation can practice yoga. The yogis say
your true age is the day you start to practice yoga! So come rejuvenate yourself!

What do I need to bring?

  • A towel or you can rent one.
  • Your open spirit to learn something new

What should I wear?
