Health Coach Training Certification Requirements

To become a certified B1 Health Coach please see the requirements below. Students interested in the B1 Health Coach Certification are assigned a senior faculty to help them understand and meet the certification requirements in a timely fashion. Students must attend 80% of the classes and listen to all of the classes missed. They must submit their application for a Health Coach Certificate within one year of completing the program. B1 Community, LLC Certification Committee is made up of a Board of Advisors, who are founding experts in the industry and B1 Faculty.

Requirements for B1 Health Coach Certification:

  1. Successful completion of  B1 Health Coach Training Fundamentals
  2. Receive 10 hours of Professional Health Coaching
  3. Submit the following:
    • three written professional references
    • a written description of a scope of professional service (and be able to articulate it)
    • a sample client contract
    • a current resume
    • any promotional materials (business cards, brochures, etc.)

  4. Documentation that the Health Coach has coached for a fee for 20 hours or has been employed full time as a health coach for 3 months.
  5. Payment of the non-refundable application fee of $250. If certification is not approved, the application can be resubmitted within 6 months for $50.
  6. Participation in a recorded skill evaluation session and demonstration of the following:
    • An understanding B1 Health Coaching Methods
    • A personal vision for their B1 Health Coaching practice
    • Ability to do a Health Coaching Assessment; to structure a 15, 30 and 60 minute session; to work in a series
    • The ability to listen in a verbal and somatic manner with body, mind and spirit awareness
    • An understanding of how to work with the four quadrants of health including other simple health strategies for lifestyle changes
    • The ability to never engage in medical diagnosis and medical prescription
    • The ability to discuss action steps for several limiting behavior patterns that were addressed in coaching sessions
    • The ability to work from a non-judgmental place of compassion
